Unlocking Saros: A Complete Guide to Finding Every Halcyon

Unlocking Saros: A Complete Guide to Finding Every Halcyon

In the sprawling, atmospheric world of Saros, one of the most sought-after collectibles is the Halcyon. These glowing, ethereal artifacts are not just decorative; they are key to unlocking deeper lore, enhancing your character’s abilities, and achieving full completion of the game. However, their locations are often tucked away in the most obscure corners of the map, requiring keen observation and a bit of puzzle-solving to reach.

First, it is essential to understand what a Halcyon actually is. In the game’s narrative, Halcyons are remnants of a forgotten civilization’s energy source. They pulse with a soft, calming light, often hidden behind breakable walls, at the end of tricky platforming sections, or within the lairs of optional bosses. Collecting them rewards players with permanent stat boosts and fragments of the game’s backstory.

To begin your hunt, focus on the early zones. The Ashen Dunes area contains three Halcyons that are relatively easy to spot. One is perched on a high ledge near the first save point, accessible by using the "Phase Dash" ability. Another is submerged in a pool of toxic water, requiring you to activate a nearby vent to drain it. The third is hidden behind a false bookshelf in the abandoned library.

As you progress to the mid-game region, the Sunken Cathedral, the challenge increases. Here, Halcyons are often guarded by spectral enemies or require you to solve light-reflection puzzles. Pay close attention to the environment; a faint blue glow often indicates a hidden alcove. One particularly tricky Halcyon in this area is located behind a waterfall that only disappears after you defeat a specific elite enemy.

For the final zones, such as the Obsidian Spire, you will need to have unlocked all traversal upgrades. Many Halcyons here are placed on platforms that are only reachable by chaining double jumps with a wall run. Keep an eye out for cracked floors, as several Halcyons are buried underground and require a ground-pound ability to uncover.

By systematically exploring each region and using your map markers, you can collect all Halcyons and unlock the game’s true ending. Remember, patience is key—some of these artifacts are designed to test your mastery of Saros’s mechanics. Happy hunting.
