The third season of HBO's hit series "The Last of Us" has added a major name to its cast. Peter Sarsgaard will appear in the upcoming season, but unlike many of the show's characters, his role is not pulled directly from the video games. Instead, the actor will play a brand new character created specifically for the television adaptation.

Details on Sarsgaard's role remain under wraps.
