After two years of operating without a dedicated home, Brown Esports has finally opened the doors to its new, permanent gaming lounge. The facility, located within the Brown Bookstore complex, welcomed members of the Brown and RISD communities for the first time on January 24th.
The lounge represents a significant milestone for the student-run organization, which has seen tremendous growth in recent years. It provides a centralized, professional-grade space for competitors, casual players, and students interested in the broader gaming industry to connect and collaborate. The venue is equipped with high-performance gaming PCs, consoles, and streaming equipment to support both practice and broadcast needs.
This dedicated hub is more than just a playing field; it’s designed to foster community. Club leaders emphasize the lounge as a social and academic resource, where students can build skills in event management, production, and shoutcasting. The space will host tournaments, watch parties, and community gaming nights, solidifying esports as a vibrant part of campus life. The opening culminates a long search for a suitable location, finally giving the thriving esports community a place to call its own.
